Street Art - Inman Park Style

Catlanta Dekalb Ave

I thought I would post a few street art shots.  I've posted in the past about street art in Little 5 points here.  And I've posted about graffiti (the bad kind) in Inman Park here. I do love some good street art if it's done right.  There are some really talented people out there for sure.

Inman Park Parade 2011

Inman Park Parade 2011
Well the weather couldn't have been better for today's Inman Park festival and parade. The parade was excellent this year as usual.  Some old familiar faces and some new faces participated.  I would have to post 100 photographs to do the parade justice!

**Update - More photos can be found in the part 2 post here.

Folk Art - Inman Park Style

Hale Street Folk Art UFO!

There's plenty of folk art in the Inman Park neighborhood.  Some of it is in plain sight and some you have to look for.  It adds character and charm to the neighborhood without being too intrusive or obnoxious. I still need to shoot (photograph) the moose and alligator!  You know which house I'm talking about!

Hurt Street - Inman Park

Mini-Castle Hurt Street Inman Park

Hurt Street is named after Joel Hurt who designed and developed Inman Park in the 1880's.  There are a number of beautiful homes with varying styles of architecture on Hurt Street.
Purple House - Hurt Street

You may wonder why I included the below photographs of the Green home on Hurt Street.  The house has been very neglected and looks like it may collapse at anytime, but look a little closer.  This house has amazing detail.  It must have really been something to see 50 or 75 years ago.  If anyone ever decides to restore this old beauty they will really have something special in my opinion.
