Washita Ave Totem Pole - Inman Park

Washita Ave off N. Highland

The Washita Ave totem pole was created at the end of 2010. Terry Legge, the artist, created this work of art with a chainsaw. The tree was struck by lightning and only the stump remained. The Homeowner had Terry create the totem pole.

Terry said there was a red tailed hawk flying around as he was working on it so that's why he carved the hawk into the very top. There is also an owl on the top, a guitar on the side and a bench on the bottom.  Terry's contact information is terrylegge@yahoo.com

Euclid Ave - Inman Park

Euclid Ave Inman Park
Euclid Avenue is the main road running through the Inman Park neighborhood in Atlanta.  There is a real mix of large beautiful homes and more modest homes.  That's what makes Inman Park a great neighborhood - the diversity.

Euclid Ave
The house in the above photo really looks great at night.  They have stained glass windows throughout the house and usually the round lanterns on the porch are red and lit up at night.  In this picture they had changed the lantern colors to yellow and black and hung a Pittsburgh Steelers flag out front.  Sorry, maybe next year!

Inman Park Restaurants - Fritti and Sotto Sotto

The corner of N. Highland and Elizabeth Inman Park

Fritti is one of those places where you could take anyone and they would most likely enjoy themselves. The bar area is small, but it's perfect for mingling while you're waiting for a table. The tables are cozy, but manageable.  It has a clean, crisp interior with plenty of natural lighting and an open air cafe italian style.  Great friendly service. This restaurant is also owned by the same people who own Sotto Sotto.
Inman Park Italian!
Sotto Sotto is one of the best Italian restaurants in Atlanta.  Their food is generally great, and the ambience is romantic, intimate, cozy, yet bustling.  The tables and chairs are small and the decor is very minimal.

Sotto Sotto is one of those special occasion restaurants where the food, atmosphere, and cocktails are a winner.  This place rocks in terms of the quality and the ambiance of an Italian restaurant. The risotto is absolutely delicious, cooked to just the right consistency! Click here for more info.

Whitespace Gallery - Inman Park

Whitespace Gallery Edgewood Ave Inman park

Whitespace Gallery is a gem of Atlanta's cultural life because their whole space is gorgeous and refined, without being snobbish or pretentious.
The Gallery is a delightful cluster of bricks shaped by a front/side garden-patio. It is situated in an 1893 carriage house where several rooms graciously host the artwork and is one of the least pretentious art spaces in the city.
The art is cool, the space is very unique and accessible. The outdoor reception is lovely under the old trees of Inman Park. It's just a great place to see the art of up and coming artists.

Security Watch - Inman Park Style

Dalmatians on Druid Circle keeping us safe
Inman Park takes safety and security seriously.  In addition to the two Dalmatians keeping watch on Druid Circle in the above photo there is an active neighborhood watch and a security patrol manned by off duty Atlanta police officers.  I know when I'm out walking the neighborhood I always feel better when I see the IPP security cruiser.  Petty crime will always be a problem in a city neighborhood but if you're smart and don't leave items visible in your car chances are good you won't be a victim.

Not Your Average Barn - Trolley Barn Inman Park

Trolley Barn after recent snow 2011

Designed in 1880 the main hall can accommodate up to 250 people. This place is really simple, really charming and the perfect place for a small wedding.  The building is beautiful and a wonderful place to hold an event.    The facility is simple and spacious with vaulted ceilings and room for a band and a dancing area. As I walk my dog around the neighborhood I often see wedding receptions happening there.  There's always a police officer keeping watch and the folks attending the reception always seem to be having a good time! Click here for more information.
