Inman Park - Carmel Ave

Carmel Ave Inman Park

Carmel Ave is located in the Inman Park neighborhood off of North Highland.  It's a small little street but has some beautiful homes.  Go one block north on Highland and you can see the Washita Ave Totem pole which I blogged about here.

Star Salon - Inman Park

Cool Star Salon Sign Inman Park

Star Salon is located on Elizabeth Street near Cacao in the area behind Pure Taqueria. You can't miss it.  As you can see from the photos they have some very cool signage.

There's a long list of things to love about Star Salon: a calm yet energizing atmosphere, enthusiastic and friendly staff, and a fun in-town location.

Jessica, the owner, attended the last Inman Park Neighborhood Association meeting and introduced herself.  Big props to Jessica for doing that!

Star Salon has a wonderful vibe about it. They play great music, and they have a great picture window for people watching.
If you need a full service hair salon with excellent service in a comfortable, very relaxing and inviting space  then give Jessica a call at 404.230.STAR.

Springvale Park Summer Edition - Inman Park

Springvale Park Summer 2011

I've posted about Springvale Park in the past here.  Today I took a walk down to the park to see how things were looking.  Everything looked great as you can see from the photographs.  The missing goose is back and the lily pads are blooming.  My dog had a great time splashing around in the creek.  It's nice to have such a beautiful park right down the street.

Krog Bar - Inman Park

Krog Bar @ Stove Works

Krog Bar is located on the same grounds housing Rathbun's on Krog Street and has space for about thirty folks at a time. It is a great place for sitting out on the patio and enjoying a little wine and tapas. The service is relaxed and friendly. If you want to have good conversation over a glass of wine and still get a city feeling, this is definitely the place to go. For more information click here.

Gingerbreadz - Inman Park

Dixie Ave

I though it might be nice to post a couple shots of some of the nicer gingerbread houses in the Inman Park neighborhood.  I think both these houses are cool, have great detail, and really stand out in their own way.

Sauced - Inman Park

Sauced Inman Park

Sauced opened their doors in Inman Park about a year and a half ago. They have some interesting options and a wide range of choices for a smaller menu.  The drink menu is superb and has a lot of hand crafted cocktails.
In addition to dining inside they have a small patio dining area in the front and a gorgeous larger outdoor area in the back.
The atmosphere is great! The inside of this place has the coolest vibe in the city...retro, relaxed, inviting, and fun. I would call it hip 50's decor. The restaurant is very small.  I would guess it seats about 30-40 people max, but it's quite cozy.
So if you're part of the hipster crowd and looking for something new then give it a try.  The place can get crowded so make sure you make reservations.  For more info click here.

**Update: Sadly this restaurant has closed.

**Update: Chef Ria Pell set me straight on the street art below.  I thought that was there prior to Sauced taking over the building but actually they hired street artist Totem to do the mural to slow down the graffiti taggers. The cool red truck is actually the chef's!

Freedom Park Path - Inman Park

Freedom Park Path Inman Park

The Freedom Park Path runs from Ponce De Leon through Candler Park, Inman Park, and Old Fourth Ward. It also has a branch that runs through Poncey Highlands.  It's a great place to walk, run, or bike ride. If you jump on the path from Inman Park it's about a 10 to 15 mile bike ride round trip. It makes for a nice 30 minute work out.

It's very scenic and Poncey Highlands has a community garden along the path as well. The part of the path over by Boulevard was recently resurfaced which is nice. If you haven't taken a walk, run, or bike ride on the path give it a try. It's nice to see people are using it more now than ever!  For more information click here
