Inman Park - It's All About the Trees

Virgil Street Inman Park

The Inman Park neighborhood is all about flowering trees, including many varieties of Magnolia. The urban tree canopy is alive and well in the neighborhood.  The Inman Park Neighborhood Arboretum installed approximately eighty granite tree markers and published a map of the Arboretum's self-guided walking tour that can be found here.

Ashland Ave Fence and Sculpture - Inman Park

Ashland Ave Fence Inman Park

There's a house on Ashland Ave in the Inman Park neighborhood that has quite a bit of folk art and custom made fences on the front and side of the house.  The fence on the side of the house really stands out with the shapes cut into the top of each wooden plank.  I haven't seen a fence like this anywhere else in Atlanta.

More Beautiful Homes - Inman Park

Euclid Ave Pink House

There is an amazing variety of homes in the Inman Park neighborhood.  The pink house in the above photo is located on Euclid Avenue.  It's a classic and even has a nice pool in the backyard.  The two photos below are located on Waverly Way.  The red brick home is the Woodruff House Bed and Breakfast which I previously blogged about here.

Springvale Park - Inman Park

Springvale Park Summer - South side

Founded in 1889, Springvale Park is located in the Inman Park neighborhood on either side of Euclid Avenue along Waverly Way - The north side and the south side.  It's a gorgeous newly restored park with a pond, a little hiking trail, and a children's playground.
The park was designed by The Olmsted brothers, who also designed Central Park in New York City, and the famous Biltmore House and Gardens in Asheville, North Carolina.

Inman Park at Night

Druid Circle

I've always loved night photography.  Once in a while I'll grab my camera and head out for a night adventure and see what I find.  The nice thing about Inman Park is that many of the houses look great at night and there are also many vantage points where you can get a nice view of the Atlanta skyline.

Some Beautiful Homes - Inman Park

Druid Circle

Inman Park in known for it's beautiful victorian style homes.  There are many in the neighborhood that really standout.  The green home in the above photo is a classic gingerbread house.  It's hard to tell from the picture but they painted the chimney black and it really has a cool look to it.

The house in the picture below is my kind of place.  Wrap around front porch, screened in back porch, and a balcony.  What's not to love!

Bold Choices - Inman Park style

Edgewood Ave Inman Park - reminds me of a house boat!

Not all the homes in Inman Park are amazing Victorian style houses.  Some of the good folks in the neighborhood have made bold choices with their home designs and color schemes.  Another reason to love the neighborhood - to each his own!

Virgil Street - Funky Cool Inman Park

Virgil Street Small Funky Cool

The houses on Virgil street in Inman Park are different than any of the other houses in the neighborhood.  The neighborhood is full of old victorian style houses, but on Virgil street there are these funky cool little places.  Some are so small and narrow you could fit 10 of them into one of the larger homes in the neighborhood.  Some look like townhouses that have been separated from the group.

I'm sure there is a story on why the houses are so different but I haven't been able to find anyone who knows.  If you have the story leave us a comment and let us know.
